Inclusive COVID-19 Vaccination for Indigenous Communities in Southwest Sumba
Inclusive COVID-19 vaccination activities for vulnerable communities were organized by the Sumba Barat Daya District Health Office with support from AIHSP, in collaboration with Save the Children. The activities took place in March 2023 in the Ratenggaro Traditional Village, in the Sumba Barat Daya District, East Nusa Tenggara. In NTT itself, AIHSP collaborated with implementing partner CIS Timor to reach 35 villages spread across four districts, namely Sumba Barat Daya, Sabu Raijua, Belu, and Timor Tengah Selatan. This program specifically targeted elderly groups, persons with disabilities, members of underprivileged families, and individuals living far from health services, among other vulnerable groups. Since its implementation began in September 2022 until June 2023, this inclusive vaccination program has reached more than 22,800 people in NTT.
